A mismatch may not show clearly in product photos, but it becomes obvious when both pieces are worn together in natural light.

Why A Tracksuit is Harder to Produce Than The Sum of Its Parts
Most manufacturing problems in this category come from the same place. A set is quoted as one product and made as two.
Fabric is dyed in batches called dye lots, and two lots of the same color reference can show slight shade variation, which is normal in textile manufacturing. It only becomes a problem when the two pieces sit next to each other on the same body, which is exactly what a tracksuit does. A jacket from one lot and a pant from another can pass inspection individually and still fail as a set.
So we handle tracksuits differently from single garments:
- Both halves of a set are cut from the same dye lot, and the lot is recorded against your order.
- Shade is checked panel to panel before sewing, not only roll to roll.
- Where a set mixes fabrics, for example, a tricot jacket with a fleece pant, we color match across the two constructions at sampling and get your approval on the pair rather than on one piece.
- Trims are matched too. Zipper tape, rib cuffs, drawcords, and binding are all dyed separately, and all of them can throw a set off if nobody checks.
- Your dye recipe and Pantone reference stay on file, so a reorder in six months still matches the run you have in stock.

Classic Tricot Tracksuits
The sideline look. Warp-knit polyester tricot with a smooth face and a soft back, usually 180 to 240 GSM, depending on the required weight, drape, and end use, with a full zip jacket, stand collar, and side taping. Holds color well and takes heat-applied numbers cleanly.
Fleece and French Terry Tracksuits
The modern athleisure set. French terry from 280 GSM for warmer months, brushed fleece from 320 to 400 GSM for winter. Cotton-rich and blended constructions are selected for their comfort, softness, and everyday wear appeal.
Velour Tracksuits
Knitted pile with a plush surface and a distinctive sheen. Cut slightly differently from a flat knit because the pile has a direction, so every panel has to run the same way or the color shifts between pieces.
Windbreaker and Shell Tracksuits
Woven polyester or nylon taffeta with a mesh or taffeta lining, water repellent finish and a packable weight. The rain day option for clubs and the retro shell suit look for streetwear.
Performance Tracksuits
Poly spandex interlock from 180 to 240 GSM with four-way stretch and a closer cut. Moisture management finishes can be added for performance applications. Built for athletes who warm up in the suit rather than travel in it.
Slim Fit and Tapered Tracksuits
Narrower through the thigh and calf with an ankle zip or ribbed or elastic cuffs and hem, on a pattern block drafted for the fit rather than a standard block taken in.
Oversized and Streetwear Tracksuits
Dropped shoulders, boxy jacket, wider leg. Needs a heavier fabric to hang correctly, since light knits collapse on an oversized block.
Custom Team Tracksuits
Presentation and warm-up suits for clubs and squads, with sublimated or embroidered crests, player names and numbers, and staff versions of the same design.

Finishes available on request: moisture wicking, water repellent, anti-pill, brushed backing, anti-odor treatment, and peach finish. Colors are matched to Pantone TCX references and held on file for reorders.
Construction, Zippers, and Trims
On the Jacket
- An open-end zipper, which separates fully at the bottom. A closed-end zipper cannot open a jacket, and it is a genuine error we have seen arrive on samples from other factories.
- Reverse coil or metal tooth zippers, including premium YKK options where specified, with a chin guard so the slider does not sit against the throat.
- Stand collar, hood, or a lined collar with contrast inner.
- Raglan or set-in sleeve. Raglan moves more cleanly through the shoulder; set-in gives a sharper line.
- Ribbed or elastic cuffs and hem, knitted with elastane so they recover instead of stretching out.
- Zip or open side pockets, bar tacked at both openings where the stress sits.
- Mesh or taffeta lining, or unlined for a lighter and cheaper set.
On the Pant
- Elastic waistband with an inner drawcord, a flat woven cord, or a self-fabric tie, with metal or plastic tipping.
- Ankle zips, open hem, elastic cuff, or a rib cuff, which changes both the look and the cost.
- Tapered, straight, or wide leg, drafted on the block rather than adjusted at the hem.
- Gusseted crotch for movement and side pockets with or without zips.
- Optional back pocket, knee darts, and articulated panels.
Coverstitch and twin needle finishing throughout, with bar tacks at every stress point. If your set is going to be worn hard rather than worn out, say so at the brief stage, and we will specify accordingly.
Side Stripes, Taping, and a Caution Worth Reading
The stripe down the sleeve and the leg is what makes a tracksuit look like a tracksuit. We apply it several ways
- Woven or knitted tape sewn into the side seam, the traditional method and the most durable.
- Contrast fabric panels cut into the pattern, which reads cleaner and costs more in cutting.
- Piping inserted into the seam for a finer line.
- Heat applied or printed stripes, the cheapest but least durable on a knit.
- Jacquard tape with your brand name woven into it, which is a strong option if you want something that cannot be copied off a photo.
Now the part most manufacturers will not tell you about this. Parallel stripe designs on sleeves and legs are among the most heavily protected and most litigated design elements in apparel. Certain stripe arrangements and brand-identifying design elements may be protected. We recommend reviewing trademark requirements before placing bulk production orders.
What that means for you in practice. We will flag it if your artwork uses evenly spaced parallel stripes running down the sleeve or leg, especially in a contrast color on a classic tricot suit, because that is the configuration most likely to attract attention.
Branding, Printing, and Embroidery
Tracksuit fabrics take decoration differently from a cotton tee, so the method has to suit the base.
- Embroidery on a stabilized panel, with backing so the stitch does not pucker the knit. The usual choice for a chest crest or a club badge.
- All over sublimation, which bonds into polyester fiber and adds nothing to the handle. Panels are printed before cutting, so graphics can run seam to seam. Polyester base only.
- Heat transfer vinyl and silicone transfer for names, numbers, and sponsor logos, including per-player personalization.
- Stretch additive and water-based screen printing for placement graphics on knits. Heavy plastisol should be avoided on a stretch base because it cracks.
- Silicone and TPU raised badges, woven patches, and leather patches for a premium finish.
- Reflective print and reflective piping for evening training use.
- Custom fabric dyeing and Pantone matched color development across the whole set.

Custom Team Tracksuits
Supplying a squad is a different job from supplying a brand. The order arrives as a roster rather than a quantity, and the awkward parts are the ones nobody mentions until the kit is late. This is how we customize sports tracksuits for a whole squad without the set drifting out of match.
- Names and numbers applied per player, either sublimated into the panel or heat applied, with your roster taken as a spreadsheet.
- Split sizing within a set, so a player who needs a large jacket and medium pants gets both. This is standard for us, and it is worth asking any supplier about, because not every factory will do it.
- Staff and coaching versions of the same design, usually in a different colorway or with a different crest.
- Matching across the wider kit, so the tracksuit, the jersey, and the training tee all sit on the same Pantone reference.
- Mid-season reorders for new signings; the cut against the dye recipe is held on file so the new suit matches the ones issued in preseason.
- Kitting by player, with each set bagged and labeled so the cartons can be handed straight to a coach.

Sizing and Fit
A tracksuit is sold as one size but worn by two different measurements. Shoulders and chest decide the jacket, hips and inseam decide the pants, and plenty of people do not sit in the same letter for both.
- Sets can be produced as matched sizes or as split sizes, where the jacket and pants are ordered independently within the same run.
- Full graded range from XS to 5XL, with men's, women's, and youth blocks drafted separately.
- Tall and short leg options on the pant where your customer base needs them.
- Measurements audited at the smallest and largest sizes in the range, not only at the middle.
Send us your size chart if you have one. If you do not, we will build the graded spec, and it belongs to you, so it travels with you if you ever move production.
Private Label and Packaging
Every order ships under your brand. Nothing in the carton points back to us.
We produce woven, satin, printed, and tagless heat transfer neck labels, plus custom hang tags in any shape and stock. Care and content labels carry fiber content, country of origin, and care symbols in the format US retail expects under the FTC Care Labeling Rule, and we will print your RN number if you have one.
Sets are packed the way you sell them. Jackets and pants are bagged together as one unit with a single barcode or bagged separately if you sell the pieces individually. Branded poly bags, custom mailers, boxes, tissue, and UPC or EAN barcodes applied per unit. If the goods are going into Amazon FBA or a retail account, say so at the quote stage so barcode placement and carton marking are built into the run.
Minimums, Lead Times, and Pricing
Minimum order
- 35 sets per style for logo work and color changes on our existing blocks.
- 100 sets per style per colorway for full custom cut and sew on your own pattern.

- Quote within 24 to 48 hours of a complete brief.
- Sampling in 10 to 15 business days from an approved tech pack.
- Bulk in 15 to 20 business days after you sign off on the pre-production sample.
Work backwards from the date the goods have to be on your shelf or on the squad.
What Moves Your Unit Price?
Fabric and weight, whether the jacket is lined, zipper type and quality, cuff construction, the number of contrast panels, decoration method and coverage, trims, packaging, the width of your size range, and whether your delivery date forces air freight. Sampling is charged separately and credited against your bulk order when you proceed. Per-piece costs drop at 300, 500, and 1,000 sets per style.
How We Check a Set Before it Ships
- Shade matching between jacket and pant, checked as a pair under controlled lighting rather than piece by piece.
- Trim matching, covering zipper tape, rib, binding, and drawcord against the body fabric.
- Zipper function testing across the full length, including the open end separation on jackets.
- Colorfastness to washing and rubbing, and pilling resistance on fleece and velour, which are the two constructions most likely to pill.
- Shrinkage testing after wash, since a set that shrinks unevenly stops being a set.
- Elastic and rib recovery testing at the cuffs, hem, and waistband.
- Incoming fabric inspection on the four-point system, with GSM, width, and shade checked against the approved lot.
- Measurement audit across the full graded range.
- Final random inspection at AQL 2.5 according to buyer requirements.
